A tree contains a certain soul and energy, it is alive.

A blind man cannot see a tree.

When a tree is cut down the soul is gone and only the wood remains, the materiality of this tree, its dead body.

But it is only then, that the man can perceive and feel what the tree is actually like.

How the stem splits into branches, leaves

The structure of the bark, the delicacy of its twigs.

The blind man has the power to keep the soul of the tree alive after it has become wood.
